Farley Court, Berkshire
An external “facelift” and complete internal reconfiguration and refurbishment to transform this tired country house into a stunning mansion and family home executed by Strong Base Construction.
The house sat amongst an impressive garden beside the Grade II Listed Farley Court and its grounds which included ancient Redwood trees and Oak forests.
Through much dialogue with the client and working alongside the Councils Conservation Architect it was decided that a total readdress of all external elements of the building would be of benefit to the house itself and the wider context.
Bespoke traditional stone mouldings, columns, lead dormers, lead canopies and traditionally detailed windows set the tone for an elegantly and well-proportioned exterior that unquestionably enhanced the building and its surroundings.
To the rear Studio 1 Architects designed a timber Orangery replacing the existing UPV conservatory. Externally this complemented the rest of the buildings design whilst internally fulfilling the clients desire to have a light filled entertaining space, with direct access to the beautiful gardens.
